Sinatra: Up and Running
Think Stats
Programming Web Services with Erlang
Hacking: The Next Generation

My Software Apprenticeship Reading List
Here’s a list of books I’ve been reading during my apprenticeship thus far, or began reading specificially for this experience.
They may or may not be of interest to other programmers or apprentices, but I thought I’d share!
In no particular order:
Apprenticeship Patterns — Highly recommended. I will probably be talking more about my reaction to this book in particular...

Tip
makeitmanageable:
Trying to constrain yourself while creating ideas is like an artist confining himself to a single canvas with which to paint; it might take him thousands of canvasses to create a masterpiece. When trying to find ideas (brainstorming, perhaps), just write every single idea down and assess their quality later; You will go through a lot of ideas before you find your “masterpiece”.

Me: “Yes, the hand appears when you mouseover a link.”
Client: “Well, we’ve discussed it, and we’ve decided that we’d like it to always be the hand.”
